Major Wheeler-Nicholson vows lone fight to clean up army
Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson says he will face court martial for criticizing the army’s conditions and the war department. He insists his open letter to the president and secretary of war exposes issues and a “stench” he calls a threat to American decency and Americanism. He claims responsible officers who “call a spade a spade” are not wanted in the regular army.
