Scout District Camporees Set For Friday and Saturday
The sixth annual Uwharrie Scout Council Camporee opens Friday with about 650 Scouts at five district camps to be graded on safe camping. Patrols must score 300 of 370 to advance to the Uwharrie camporee April 29 to May 1 with district chief judges named for each area. In case of bad weather the events will be postponed to the following weekend.

Easter Fishing Ban Lifted For Statewide Holiday
Anglers may fish inland waters during Easter from April 16 midnight to April 18 midnight using legal methods. Jamestown city lake remains closed due to ongoing boat repairs.
