Raleigh April 14 North Carolina cotton growers will receive a 15 percent decrease in fire insurance premiums on bales stored in 1938 warehouses under the state Agriculture Department supervision. Commissioner W Kerr Scott said the move lowers storage costs and prevents rate increases despite rising cotton values. The state-licensed warehouses cover about 200000 bales, with receipts guaranteeing integrity and protecting farmers against fire theft and water damage.
