Plane Crashes Near Thomasville After Hitting Power Lines
A small four place plane struck utility lines while attempting a landing off Midway School Road near Thomasville. Pilot Perry Hilton of New Port News Virginia suffered a minor facial cut and was treated at City Memorial Hospital. Richard Shelton and James Holt witnessed the crash as Duke Power crews and Pilot Volunteer Fire Department responded to repair damaged lines and clear the area.

War Veteran Dies In Accident Near Fayetteville

Police report a second large plate glass window at the Morning Glory on W Main Street was broken Saturday morning with no entry. Earlier a gang used a railroad tie as a battering ram to smash the window and damaged the building, with losses estimated over 1 000 dollars. Several youths were jailed on related charges and face further cases.
