Marlowe is a 1972 Lexington High School graduate and a nursing student at Central Piedmont Community College. She is a licensed commercial pilot employed at Thurston Aviation in Charlotte. Her grandfather Abel Payne resides in Thomasville. Her father is vice president of marketing for Southern Film Extruders and a 1968 UNCG graduate who attended UNCC, served four years in the Navy and piloted at Lake Norman Aviation.
