Nixon orders military abortion policy aligned with state laws
President Nixon reversed last summer’s liberalization and directed that abortion policy at U S military bases follow the laws of the states where bases are located. The change, implemented by the Secretary of Defense, supersedes prior broad rules and seeks to reflect state regulations on abortion.
