Members and visitors named included Mrs Alla and Miss Lizzie McComb among others as they discussed selections such as The Iron Woman The Broad Highway The Delivery The Harvester Queed The Golden Silence The Winning of Barbara Worth and The Miller of Old Church.
The Do-As-You-Please Club met with Constance Bost on September 7. Members held a guessing contest followed by a salad course with Frances Geitner winning a prize boxed stationery. Gladys Reid was elected president as the prior term ended. The meeting adjourned to September. A note on sprained ankles states Chamberlain’s ointment, used promptly, can shorten recovery to two to four days.

In Pocseqpeeeeter Township on Sept 12 a note announces Miss Mayme Icard daughter of Calvin Icard of Burke County wed Joe Mull Jr partner at Young Mull Co of Catawba County. ceremony performed by Squire Adams below fdebrand. The couple was joined by several young friends and well-wishers.
