County Ticket Nominated At Newton Convention
The Democratic county convention met in Newton Saturday in the courthouse. J. C. Younts was chosen chairman and a slate of nominees for register of deeds, legislature, sheriff, clerks of court, coroner, treasurer, surveyor, and county commissioners was declared the official ticket. Resolutions called for abolition of county treasurer and a state primary bill. The full ticket includes W. B. Gaither for legislature and J. W. Philips for sheriff, among others.

Senator Bradley of Kentucky Dead at 68
Former United States Senator from Kentucky Senator Bradley died at 9 45 p m after a lingering illness. An eminent Republican leader and orator born in 1847 he joined the Union army as a youth and rose to law practice. He served as Kentucky governor in 1895 and 1903 and was elected to the Senate in 1903. His last speech was May 6 opposing repeal of the Panama Canal tolls exemption law.
