The mill, costing about 100000, will have 5000 spindles and produce No 30 cone yarn and may be located opposite the railway station. Warlick reports stock nearly subscribed and building will start soon. He previously organized the Dudley mill in 1906 and led it since.

Confederate veterans reunion draws ten thousand at Newton
The annual reunion held in Newton attracted at least 10,000 attendees despite threatening rain. Senator Overman delivered a well received speech, introduced by W A Self, with prior remarks by W A Latz formerly of Catawba. The event, the largest veterans gathering in Catawba county, included a big Morgan ton Statenville ball game and noted orderly conduct. Mecklenburg visitors praised Catawba farms and the local creamery, predicting continued exchange and growth through farm visits and modern practices.
