Thirty Michigan Hickory enthusiasts gathered at Lake Orion Michigan on Wednesday August 9 1911 for the first Hickory Society of Michigan reunion. They toured Bellevue Island dined at a hotel banquet heard toasts and speeches and elected officers forming a permanent organization with plans to meet again in 1912.
