Four Hurt as Car Hits Confectionary Truck at Derry Crossing
On a Thursday near Derry Church crossing a motor section car collided with a heavy confectionary truck. Four workmen were seriously injured Brady Keagrice James McCune William Fanus and James Didda all from nearby towns. Others sustained minor injuries. the truck driver Samuel Hoover suffered only slight bruises. The crash sent eleven men flying. the car wrecked and the truck damaged. Ambulances took the injured to Harrisburg Hospital. remaining injured were taken home. A separate local notice details a Men’s Chorus rehearsal at the Men’s Club with plans for a 90-21 season and an upcoming organizational meeting.

Legion Dance Planned in Hershey Park Pavilion
Hershey Post No. 386 American Legion hosts a dance October 6 in the park pavilion with Roth's Dance Orchestra from Lancaster providing music. Tickets sold fast and events include an expert decorator and free rides from Chocolate and Park Avenues. The event runs 8 30 to 11 15 with ladies 40 cents and gentlemen 60 cents.

Fatal injuries from Hershey auto collision
On the Wm. Penn Highway near Hershey David Heisey and Charles Weis in a four passenger car were in a crash with another vehicle. Heisey, reportedly racing, was thrown from the car and died at Harrisburg Hospital eight hours later. Weis sustained minor injuries. others unharmed. Vehicles were towed to Hershey Garage.

David F. Heisey died from injuries in an auto collision and was buried September 27 in New Providence Lancaster County. Services were at the Mastersonville church. pallbearers were six Mastersonville friends. Survived by widow Ethel Mowrer Heisey and brothers Rufus Melvin Norman. parents Elias and Alice Frey Heisey preceded him. He was 21 years, 9 months, 28 days. Heisey worked in the engine room for three years and was active in Woodmen of the World and Palmyra Camp P O S of A. Mrs Heisey expresses gratitude to friends and P O S of A for support.
