Hershey Growth Progress Visible in Major Expansion Projects
The Hershey town growth accelerates with a 100 by 200 foot four story addition to the shipping department, walls raised to extend from two to four stories, and a new Y M C A gymnasium site at Cocoa House. A wing for Hershey Press, a 380 by 40 foot Miehle press base, a completed miniature railroad car depot, and a new meat wagon basement market area unfold. Five new Chocolate Avenue houses take shape, a barber shop and trolley areas planned, and a four inch water main laid toward Union Depot to supply farm buildings with water and fire protection. Also noted is Mr. Eby a longtime Hershey post office figure aged about eighty, ill with dermatitis and confined to bed, hoped to recover.
