Miss Marion Roth a Hershey High School music instructor plans a Hershey Community Chorus. The venture aims to unite residents through singing as a civic safety valve with gatherings planned for late October and participation urged through Miss Roth Prof A M Hinkel and Hershey School staff.
The Hershey Volunteer Fire Company held its monthly meeting with members present. An election named Clarence Uhrich as president and set other officers including Henry Henry as vice president and John Conrad as treasurer. A fair to raise funds for a new chemical engine runs Oct 24 to Oct 31 at Winter Dance Hall, chaired by Shoop, Ditzler, Boyer, Mahon and Hostetter.
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church members head to Lebanon for the Lancaster Conference Bible Schools Golden Jubilee. Veterans with 50 years of service will be honored, including J. E. Snyder Lizzie Letterman and Dr E E B Shaeffer. Prof J D M Brown and Dr C P Wiles will speak. the pastor serves as chaplain.
The John Elder Men s Bible Class of Derry Presbyterian Sunday School and friends enjoyed a supper hosted by the Ladies Guild at the Manse on a Tuesday evening after months of grounds beautification. A program featured vocal solos by Mrs. E B Cassady and Miss Kathryn R Weltmer and piano pieces by Miss Lydia G Weltmer, with toasts by Charles Black and Mrs F E Cassady.
The Hershey Men's Club reports strong turnout across classes last week. The Senior class showed a strong showing in the new meals class held Mondays and Fridays 8 to 9, while the Indies' beginners swimming class opened Thursday with twelve attendees and will meet weekly.
Harold Lloyd will be seen in The Freshman at the Hershey Central Theatre on Friday and Saturday evenings October 16th and 17th at 6 30 and 8 30 o'clock. There will be no advance in prices.

Hershey High School opened its 1925 football schedule on Saturday October 3 defeating Highspire 32 to 0 on a muddy home field. The game served as a practice and Hershey used most of the squad with coach Palmgren pleased by the scrappy effort. Next up is a road game October 10 at Shippensburg expected to be tougher.

District Five of Dauphin County Sabbath School Association schedules a two night conference and rally October 19 and 20 at 7 30 in Hershey. Ivan L Mease presides with Rev H K Ober to give a key address. Events feature devotional service, welcome, music, and talks by local pastors.
The Hershey football team will open the local season Saturday on the Park field against New Cumberland. Despite missing Palmyra players, promising material joins the squad and an interesting game is expected. The kickoff is set for 3 o clock. Sunday’s game at West Lebanon was canceled due to bad weather.
The Always Shining Bible Class of First United Brethren Sunday School enjoyed a waffle feast at The Chef's Place last Thursday evening. Mrs. Irvin Knoll presided as toastmaster and Miss Esther Walmer delivered a humorous toast on member individuality. Attendees included Mrs. E. R. Mays, Mrs. Uriah Hoerner, Esther M. Walmer, Helena Allison, Sara Hanshue, and many others.
William A. Lingle 61 of Lincoln Place and Woodrow Avenue died in Pittsburgh. He worked 32 years for the Duquesne Light Company and was to receive a pension. Survived by widow Mia and two brothers Samuel and John. 3,000 viewed his body at St Mary Magdalene's Church.
No films at Hershey Central Theatre this evening due to the fall opening show and fashion review at the Hershey Department Store and the Follies at Park Theatre. Firemen's Fair listed for October 24 and 31 is noted.

A bag of cocoa sold for 1026 dollars at the New York Cocoa Exchange inaugurating trading on Thursday October 1 at 124 Water Street. Proceeds go to Broad Street Hospital and the cocoa contents are to be served to patients. The bag had circulated through several brokerage redonations before the sale.
A YWCA board meeting approved a membership meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening October 20 with a supper and nominating committee election. The public is invited to a program described as par excellence. Committees listed include Social, Membership and Girls Work with several named members.
