First Thanksgiving Described From Plymouth Letter
A 1621 Plymouth letter to a dear friend E W describes early New England hardship and success. Edward Winslow initials may reflect the author. It notes 102 emigrants, half died by December 1620, seven houses built, barley and peas sown, ground manured with herrings, corn prosperous, peas poor.
