Corn and Potato Show Planned by Dauphin County Farm Bureau
The Dauphin County Farm Bureau will host a Corn and Potato Show on December 9 in Hershey for exhibitors from the eastern part of the county. Three corn classes allow ten ears or ten cars per entry, with a best variety class of up to thirty cars. Potato entries include White Red and Blue varieties with five potatoes per plate. Three prizes offered per class and variety, with a noted corn authority attending to offer tips.

Three Accused in Garage Theft Case In Hershey Area
Elmer and Ralph Shifflet of Norfolk Virginia and Herbert Coleman of Hershey face charges after auto accessories valued at $1000 were stolen from the Eshelman Garage on East Derry Road. Detectives traced the theft from Hershey to Frederick Maryland where the suspects were detained and confessed. The trio was arraigned before Justice Miller with bail set at 1000 dollars. Coleman posted bail, the Shifflets remained jailed. Eighteen tires, other auto parts, two tool boxes, and the getaway car were seized. the car is held by Maryland authorities awaiting ownership search.

The local high school marked Armistice Day with an opening at 10:80, the high school orchestra led by Miss Lenhart receiving applause. Rev. New Building at Hershey Industrial School Completed
A four story brick and concrete structure at the Hershey Industrial School is complete and in use. It houses classrooms on the second floor dormitories on the upper levels a gym in the basement and extensive canning rooms with large shelves of jellies, preserves, and vegetables. Superintendent G S Copenhaver and a staff of 32 oversee the expanded facilities aimed at improving the boys education and health.

Armistice Day Observed at Hershey Industrial School
On Friday November 11 Hershey Industrial School held Armistice Day exercises featuring a Liberty Bell story Betsy Ross and other patriotic items. A student debate on highways versus railroads was presented with teams arguing both sides and judges voting two to one. The program closed with a silent prayer as the flag was lowered and thanks given to teachers and guests.
