Prominent Lancaster and Lebanon Officials Visit Hershey

Lancaster and Lebanon officials toured Hershey on an annual outing arranged by city clerk E S Smeltz. Mayor F B McClain and council members joined a banquet at Hershey cafe and visited the chocolate plant Y M C A building and Hershey Park. The group traveled from Harrisburg by electric car, then to Elizabethtown before Lebanon and Manheim, returning home pleased with the visit and its civic camaraderie.

Y. W. C. A Contest Closes and Winners Announced

On Friday May 24 the Y W C A contest to pick delegates for Camp Nepachin closed. Four girls from each branch were sent. In the Hershey branch Esther Hummel from Hummelstown Elizabeth Grove from Hummelstown Helen Lineaweaver from Campbelltown and Sadie Hummel from Hershey won. The Press says the two week mountain outing will be a reward for the successful contestants.

Hershey Trust Company Declares Initial Dividend

The Hershey Trust Company board announces a 5 percent initial dividend, $2.50 per share after taxes. The bank, incorporated seven years ago, shows a $100,000 surplus fund and about $34,000 undivided profits with current deposits near $800,000.

School Board to Meet for 1912 13 Teacher Fix

The Derry Township school board will meet Saturday June 8 at 2 PM to elect teachers for the township schools for the term 1912 13 and fix teachers salaries.

Sock Social To Raise Funds For Hershey Church

The Ladies Aid Society of the United Brethren Church in Hershey will hold a sock social on the church lawn Friday evening June seventh. Funds will support a good cause and residents are urged to attend for the planned refreshments and community support.

Hello Bill at Hershey Park Lights Up Season Debut

Gardiner Vincent Comedy Company winged into Hershey park theater with Hello Bill a three act farce delighting a full house. Audiences praised the ensemble as artists and laughed through the show all the way to a planned December matinee of A Country Sweetheart with evening performances Thursday through Saturday.
