Hershey Park Opening May Day Attractions Planned

Hershey Park opens on Decoration Day May 30 with dancing morning to evening. The miniature trolley ride, motor 50 hp, carries 60 passengers from entrance to athletic field and merry-go-round. Bannon's miniature circus at 2 pm features daily shows with evening performances. A 3 30 pm game pits Hershey against Bethany A C. The band concert caps the day as a big family event.

Central Pennsylvanian Confectioners Hold Annual Convention

About fifty members of the Central Pennsylvania Confectioners Jobbing Association gathered in the park amphitheater for the annual convention on Friday May 19. A lively session ran from 2 to 4 p m and the same officers as the previous year were elected.

The Hershey Chocolate Company entertained members with dinner and luncheon, plus an auto ride to Hershey Farms and the Old Homestead. Special plans were made for departure Friday evening on the limited train, and all attendees reported an enjoyable day.

Members of Washington Camp 705 P O S of A are asked to meet at their hall next Sunday at 6 30 pm to march to the Presbyterian Church for the union memorial service honoring Civil War heroes. Reading mayor sends a Memorial Day message to Governor Tener in Harrisburg via a relay run. William McCormick of Olivet Boys Club oversees the effort.
