Hershey Park Improvements Nearing Completion
Hershey Park is undergoing major upgrades by Builder Putt aimed at modernization and safety. The stone entrance from Park Avenue is finished, with cement entrances and iron railings on the theater area, and a regraded south path to Spring Creek. The north end storehouse is remade with a new cement floor, the photograph gallery gains a large porch, and toilets are replaced with cement. The old dining hall receives a 25 by 40 foot kitchen, large refrigerator, four ranges, new dishwashing, and extended serving tables. Cement supports replace wood around the park building, new benches and tables are installed outdoors, and the Shoot the Chute ride is rising across Spring Creek with 40 new sleds. A newly expanded bath house exceeds 80 feet with doubled accommodations.

May’s 46 Mile Hike Sets New Local Record
M S May shattered prior marks by hiking 46 miles from Hershey to Reading in twelve hours on Sunday. Edwin Schwank accompanied May to Myerstown before Schwank returned home by trolley.
