Hershey and Penn Highway Meeting Forming Plan
Hershey will be represented at a Harrisburg meeting on March 27 1916 to form the William Penn Highway Association. The call, issued by E L McColgin, invites citizens and organization reps from Altoona to Reading to attend. Governor and Highway Commissioner expected to speak. The highway runs Philadelphia to Pittsburgh via Hershey and Harrisburg with most of 328 miles already permanentized and more to be bricked or macadamized by summer 1916.

Fire Company At Work In Hershey Training Drills Begin
Good progress reported in rejuvenating the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company with plans for a May fair and membership drive. Seventeen members attended the first Friday night drill on hose handling and other detailed exercises. drills will continue.

Winter meetings Logistics and attendance rise through January
Special thanks were extended to the officials of the Men's Club and to the musicians for their faithfulness during all the winter meetings. Attendance varied from 200 to 800 per meeting with no delays in the program. The best month was January when attendance for the month exceeded 3,000.

A heredity versus environment debate favored by the negative team led by Harry Wirth and Fred Clark, with judges siding against the affirmative. Officers elected included President Edward Bompardier, Vice President Raymond Miller, and Secretary Elizabeth Coppenhaver.

Reverend Meck Named Pastor for Hershey and Palmyra
Rev John I Meck will serve as pastor for the Lutheran churches of Hershey and Palmyra. The congregations discussed separation in 1915 but chose to remain united. Col Bradley’s Broken Toe After City Street Trip
On March 4 Col. Bradley stepped on a loose stone in Philadelphia near Ninth and Thompson. He received streetcar assistance and rheumatism treatment for 10 days with no improvement. A surgeon found the toe broken and set in splints. recovery is slow but he hopes to travel next week to Hershey and Swarra.
