The H and C trolley lines carried nearly ten thousand visitors to Hershey Park for Independence Day. A city of events including band concerts, boating, baseball, dancing, a theater matinee, a firework display, and extensive electric lighting drew crowds despite intense heat. No accidents or prostrations were reported.
Charles L. Maurer presents a varied lineup featuring Harry Taylor the yodeling English comedian, Claus and Hoffman in German style humor, Dave Caston with songs and dances, juvenile star Elmer Zeigler, and the Higgin Players in The New Janitor or the Dippy Shop. The program opens with a Rossini overture and promises strong laughs from an Irish comedian and a playful cast.
Ground has been staked off for a 50 foot addition to the freight house at the A station. The enlargement reflects the rapid growth of Hershey and the escalating freight business.
Rank B. Saylor of Rogers will begin work next Monday as solicitor for the Hersary Press. He is known in the shipping department at the factory and for his praised baseball play. He is authorized to collect subscriptions and take orders for job work.
