Hershey unveils a large West Chocolate Avenue gasoline station with brick wall vines and flower beds. Four National Meter stations promise accurate fuel, oils, and a center facility sells candies and cigars. David Gordon leads the operation ready to serve motorists July 3 opening.
Beautiful Hershey Park in Central Pennsylvania offers a full Fourth of July outing with boating, swimming, baseball, bowling, skee-ball, a Broadway musical The Clinging Vine, concerts, a giant roller coaster, dancing pavilion, cafe, gardens, photo spots, and a kiddie area including a merry go round and zoo. Come early stay late for a complete day of fun.
At the Hershey Hose House the regular meeting noted the fire engine will be put in operation Monday evening with Chief Conrad announcing the start time 6 o'clock on July 7. Members present included Dressler Havely Conrad and Kreider. Brinker appointed Kreider Conrad and Snavely to secure callmates and submit costs for fire signal boxes townwide.
The Hershey Park Orchestra will perform Sunday afternoon in Lebanon Valley with a varied program. It includes March of the Anzacs Overture William Tell Waltz Wedding Dance and selections from Blossom Time etc with a cornet solo by Mr. Fred Pronio and a descriptive piece A Day at West Point. Intermission follows before additional overtures and selections conclude the program.
Dr. and Mrs. J Webster Bailey moved from Hershey after about two years and left Monday for Chicago Illinois to reside with their daughter for the present. Dr Bailey heals from a recent illness and hopes to return to Hershey later.
The Hershey Vacation Bible School held closing exercises at First U B Church. Leaders Rev H C Hartranft Miss Anna Krauss Mrs Wm Runkel and Miss Katherine Weltmer praised students for four weeks of work. Honors listed for Intermediate Junior Primary and Kindergarten students. enrollment fell short of goals.
The W C T U of Hummelstown will hold a picnic in Hershey Park on Tuesday afternoon July 8 arriving in Hershey at two o clock. Hershey W C T U is invited to join. County President will send a speaker and lunch will be provided.
Jerome Hontetter star of The Bad Man at Hershey Park Theatre last week rode to the South Mountains for an Elk picnic. He ran out of gas on a trail, causing a blast. A W Hartman cheered with songs while Jerome headed back for gas.
Katherine and Betty Hershey depart for Camp Owalpsa in the Poconos to spend two months camping enjoying outdoor activities and nature.

The Church of Brethren on East Areba Avenue announces a Daily Vacation Bible School starting Monday July 7 from 8 30 to 11 30 each morning for adults and intermediate class. Evening sessions will be held July 7 9 14 and 16 at 7 30 pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Botts spent last week in Buffalo New York attending the National Merchandisers Decorating Association convention where Mr Botts is a member.
The Mooseheart Student Concert Band from Mooseheart Illinois will perform two Hershey concerts on Sunday July 13 at Hershey Convention Hall. The 48 member group ages 12 to 18 has toured nationwide and received praise from John Philip Sousa.
