A delegation of cattle enthusiasts visited Hershey farms last week. Members included John A. Bell Jr. owner of a large Holstein herd H A Henderson manager of Bell farms W G Davidson of Philadelphia and C W Newman of Wyalusing a noted Holstein breeder. Davidson heads W G Davidson and Co Wool Merchants and recently paid 12000 for a daughter of Tilly Alcartra. He owns a son of King Silvia the Carnation Mill Company’s 16000 bull and runs about 190 Holsteins near Philadelphia. Newman has long ties to State College and is recognized as a Holstein authority. They praised Hershey herds as among the country’s finest.

Reserved Seats To Be Sold For Hershey Concert
The Hershey Male Chorus concert at Hershey Central Theatre on Thursday February 5 will offer 200 reserved seats. Hershey Bakery Begins Operations In Press Building
The Hershey Bakery started last week in the Press Building and now supplies bread and other goods to Hershey and nearby areas. The plant features modern equipment including a Reed cake machine a Reed dough mixer and blender several Hayseen wrapping machines and more. The Pittsburgh Standard Oven Company installed the oven and the plant turns out about one thousand loaves daily plus pies cakes pastries and other treats. A Grand Opening Day will be held after full completion inviting all local residents to inspect the plant and observe operations.
