A Philadelphia paper featured a picture of a woman set to lead in an oratorio concert. Mr Gee, whose grandmother shared the surname, wrote to the woman. This week a letter confirms she is his childhood playmate from Ashtabula Ohio, with both families living nearby for years. It has been twenty years since they last met.
An afternoon at Hershey Industrial grounds hosted a local trap shooting event with Ewing Cain P N Kasson A W Whistler J J Daniels Samuel Went ling Gruber Evans Stroup and Lowert in attendance. Gruber led with 23 hits of 25 birds and another shoot is planned there in one week.
The first girls basketball game witnessed in the Hershey gym Tuesday evening featured the visiting team, St Ce, as the second squad. The event marked a milestone for local girls basketball with a competitive matchup against Hershey area talent.
Hershey defeats St Cecelia 22 to 3 as Mary Painter scores four baskets and one foul shot. Esther Moyer adds eight points, while Georgia Wick dominates the boards and guard play by Kline Hershey and Hocker. Referee Garvin presides as crowds enjoy a lively charity game at the Harrisburg Cathedral.
Miss Alra Fasnacht of Annville and Mrs. William H. Fasnacht announce the marriage of their daughter Alra Mae to Rev. Harry Kettler of Mont Clare Pa. The ceremony occurred Wednesday February 22 with many Hershey friends sending congratulations.
Campbelltown report reports Sunday School at 9 a m and church at 10, visitors Miss Quigley and friend from Oakland, and numerous local residents spending Sundays with relatives. Reports deaths of Maulfair and Kreider, plus sales, moves, and community visits.
The Palmyra Auto Club launched a membership campaign with about twenty five applications. A special Wednesday meeting elected new members. Plans for the first annual banquet advance with high interest, set for the evening of March 3.
