About 600 residents gathered at the Central Theatre to dedicate and illuminate the Hershey community Christmas tree. The 45 foot cedar drew praise from Mr M S Hershey and featured Hershey Band performances, school carols, Y W C A singers, and a Taylor sermon. The event lasted forty minutes before high winds felled then reerected the tree, still a symbol of town spirit.
