Tomorrow Hershey residents will attend a free moving pictures program at the Hershey Central Theater. A 7 PM start includes a lecture From Ocean to Ocean on Canadian scenery and industry. The program showcases Hershey life with six reels, plus a second showing if needed.
Robert Bordner of Pittsburg son of Mr and Mrs J P Bordner of Wummelstown will marry Miss Tda Smith of Philadelphia on New Year’s Day in Philadelphia. Best man will be his brother Oscar Bordner of Hummelstown. The ceremony will be a church wedding.
A record setting fog blanketed a vast area from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic, covering most of the nation. Weather officials note such widespread fog is unusual for the region and lasted across a wide stretch, with visibility severely reduced in many locales.
Tonight at the Hershey Central Theater the Christmas Festival staged by the Young Women's Christian Association features the town’s top talents. Proceeds aid the association and Christmas giving. The program includes Glee Club numbers, solos, readings, a playlet, a junior drill, and the Hershey Orchestra. The second act presents Finnegan's Flat a Christmas comedy with a cast of more than twenty including William D. Geiling and Professor Feese. The production emphasizes holiday spirit and childhood optimism under Miss Burch’s diligent direction.
The postoffice moved into the former Hershey Trust building on Monday, housing six thousand dollars worth of equipment and a larger, better arranged workspace. Extra private boxes were added and quickly taken. Postmaster Newton and staff adapted swiftly to the new system, with Miss Boyer and Miss Moyer praised for handling mail efficiently amid foreign names challenging to a Philadelphia lawyer. General Manager J B Leithiser supervised the remodel and received compliments for the upgraded facility.
The engagement was announced Sunday at a dinner at the Garman home. Both are from Derry Church and Hershey. Miss Garman and Mr Garman are connected with the Hershey Chocolate Company.
A hunter named J. C. Giles shot a very large rabbit Saturday afternoon in the surrounding fields. The animal measured nearly three feet long when suspended, and its size reminded onlookers of a famous large rabbit from the Jos Apacias episode.
The Hershey Consolidated Public School reports high attendance and welcomes visitors weekly. The annual teachers meeting for Steelton, Hammondstown, Paxtang, Swatara, and Derry is set for January 15-16 at Hershey Central Theater and the new school assembly room. Dauphin County school directors meet in February with national speakers planned. Christmas holidays run December 24 to January 4 with Derry Township teachers joining the State Education Association.

Emphasizes dependable jewelry, competitive prices, and a wide selection of toys as holiday deliveries approach, urging early mailing of packages to ensure arrival before Christmas.
The Ladies Guild of Derry Presbyterian Church offers a 1016 calendar to raise funds for the church repair fund. It features a photo of Pastor George Snavaly Rentz and a church cut with historical notes dated 1720 and 1788, plus references to Penn’s land gift and “Tha Fighting Parson.” Calendars cost twenty five cents and are sold by several individuals.
A leading Derry Township citizen lauds the Board of Supervisors John Zoll Martin Yingst and Jacob Grubb for paying off a six thousand dollar debt and expanding road work with six thousand five hundred dollars in one year without raising taxes. The piece credits an unassuming benefactor M S Hershey with generously funding thirty four thousand six hundred ninety eight dollars for road construction across the township, including a state road from Swatara Station to Union Deposit, improving sparsely settled areas and boosting local prosperity.
John Fox Weiss and Dr. Galen Hain led a Dauphin county Red Cross Stamp drive at the Hershey Men's Club. Stamps cost a cent each and fund local aid for tuberculous sufferers with 80 percent staying in the county. The effort supports transportation to sanatoriums and other assistance, with sales at a play and through the Hershey Trust Company.
The new residence of William FF R Murtie president of the Hershey Chocolate Company is nearing completion in Lebanon Valley. Griener Brothers stonework and John B Bauschore with a mechanics crew finish the woodwork and interior. The house features fine architecture and modern comforts and is placed in the East End of Hershey awaiting occupancy in the spring.
The Hershey market usually held on Saturday afternoons will move to Thursday next week due to Christmas. Local patrons have supported the market since its opening and expect Christmas products to surpass prior offerings.
Revival services are underway at Medburn church with several conversions reported. The Rev N L Tanebaugh, a former senator, preached several evenings. The meetings are led by the Rev G W Tallman of Annville, a Lebanon Valley College student.
Dr King’s Hershey talk drew a large crowd despite severe weather. The lecture highlighted his platform dynamism and elocution, centering on Psalm 28 and 24 and 13th Corinthians, leaving many attendees inspired to read their Bibles. Next Sunday at 3 the course continues with Dr C C Mitchell.
Christmas at Trinity The Christmas Testival of Holy Trinity Church and Bible School will be held on Christmas night at 6 30 o clock. The service titled The Consolation of Tarnal follows St Luke 2 1 to A and consists of enrolls scripture readings choruses by the children interpretive recitations and a brief address. A tea will be set up in the church as customary. Committees praised to make the service an inspiration to all attendees.
Chicken thieves struck again Saturday evening breaking into the home of Frank Brubaker west of town and stole fifty eight purebred White Rock chickens. The entire flock was taken with no survivors. Two weeks earlier they took fowls from George Marka, Brubaker’s neighbor.
