Toy Town and Dollyville at the Hershey Department Store showcase a vast, varied игрушечный assortment for Christmas. Santa Claus is expected to visit soon as Lebanon Valley shoppers are urged to begin early, with dolls trains and more at low prices.
An 11 year old boy Melvin Liller was shot with a .22 rifle by companion 11 year old John Leibfried during a tag game near the State Police barracks. The bullet pierced the liver and lodged in tissue behind it. Liller underwent surgery but the bullet remained undischarged. He is resting and improving though still in critical condition under care at Hershey Hospital.
Hershey Volunteer Fire Co interrupted its December meeting when an alarm sent members to a wagon shed fire at Farm No 12. The crew quickly controlled the blaze with Foamite supplied by Foamite Childs Corp. A demonstration of Foamite products is planned for Lebanon on December 5 and the next Hershey meeting is set for December 8.
A double birthday dinner honored Me Ebersole at 42 and Emanuel Groff at 21 at the Ebersole residence. Attendees included Allen and Clinton Ebersole, Elizabeth Keefer, Jona and Maggie Ebersole, Paul Ferry and Mary Jane, Christian Groff and LeRoy, Hilda, Kurtz and Ella Groff, Edith Boyd, Mahlon Groff and Junior, David Baker, and Isaac L Ebersole with many others listed in attendance.
Hershey churches urge observance of Golden Rule Sunday on December 6 by sharing a simple dinner and donating the saved funds to aid Armenian orphans through Near East headquarters in Philadelphia. The message frames the act as international duty, urging people to imagine a child in Near East hardship and respond with mercy amid a war scarred world.
Tom Mix appears in the Fox film Best Bad Man directed by J G Blystone with Clare Bow Judy King and others. The story opens in Orleans then moves to the West with thrilling dam break scenes and a daring rescue, filmed in California locations.
Hershey Port members of the American Legion accepted an invitation from the Always Shining Bible Class of the United Brethren Church to hear Rev. N. L. Linehaugh present The Rolling Stone on Thursday evening December 10. Comrades will meet at Post headquarters at 7:00 and depart promptly at 7:16 for the church.

The Hershey Community Christmas Tree committee plans a tree on the lawn in front of the Hershey Central Theatre with gifts for children eight years and under on Thursday December 24 at 6 PM If weather permits the event will be at the tree otherwise at the Hershey Inn first floor Carols will greet the youngsters as they receive candy popcorn an orange and a toy Citizens are urged to contribute to meet the quota and show support for the holiday effort
The AH Around Helpers Sunday School Class of First United Brethren Church met at Miss Dorothy Imboden's home Tuesday evening after a brief business session. Refreshments were served to Eloise Moyer Kathryn Hostetter Julia Owens Viola Mangle Sara Leibfried Alice Reille Donia Brubaker Dorothy Clark Pauline Rumpf Helen Strimble Kathryn Weidler Mabel Lingle and the teacher.
The Always Shining Bible Class marks its fifteenth anniversary with a talk by Rev. N. L. Linebaugh of Dayton Ohio on the subject The Rolling Stone. The program begins at 7 30 o clock Thursday evening in the church and a silver offering will be collected. all are invited.
Practice for the Christmas entertainment at the U B Church will be held on Saturday afternoon December 6 at 2 00 oclock. Everyone taking part is requested to be there promptly.
Philip A. Hartman of Annville Lebanon County was electrocuted at Rockview on November 30 after being convicted in Adams County for the slaying of State Police officer Francis L Haley following an Abbottstown bank robbery. He went to the chair at 7 02 a.m. and died at 7 09 a.m., with a death chamber companion and chaplain present. He left a final letter to a friend from Gettysburg dated November 25 1925 expressing faith and acceptance of his fate.
Katherine Rick spoke to the Hershey Red Cross Transcribing Club about Braille value for the blind. Helen Keller like reading Braille, and Miss Priel, once deaf and blind, has learned to read lips and Braille since graduating Mt. Airy Institute.
Miss Lena M. Frelon, a Harrisburg schoolteacher, departs on Wednesday for the West. She plans to visit Phoenix and later join her sister May in Los Angeles, California, with friends extending good wishes for a pleasant and successful journey.
Edward Everett Hale's story The Man Without a Country is brought to the screen as As No Man Has Loved. William Fox presents the patriotic drama at Hershey Central Theatre with a Friday and Saturday run, including a 6:30 p.m. show Saturday.
Miss Mildred Hocker daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank L Hocker and Paul R Abele son of Mr and Mrs A A Abele both of Elizabethtown were announced at a Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Mr and Mrs E Lee Hocker in Harrisburg. Hocker known in Hershey as class of 1924 graduate now in Hershey Chocolate Company cost department. Abele attended Elizabethtown College studied window decoration in Philadelphia and works in his father's Elizabethtown store.
The Hershey team has played seven games, with six wins and one loss by two points. They have scored 307 points against 170 for opponents and host Myerstown Keystones on Wednesday December 9 aiming for strong competition.

Banjo artist and vocalist Velma Godshall appears at Hershey Central Theatre Saturday evening with shows at 6 30 and 8 30 o clock. Misa Godshall completes a banjo set as the program features a graphic patriotic piece Aa No Man Has Loved based on The Man Without a Country.
The Wrapping Room girls at the YWCA recreation room held a cheerful Tuesday gathering with Miss Harriet Guerney leading games such as Smile Blow Out and Bean Bag Toss. The Social Committee planned treats, and a Christmas party is slated for December 21 with the Moulding Room party to follow on January 25.
Hershey sent Luther Hinkel and Millard Garver to the Eighth Annual Older Boys Conference of the Pennsylvania State Y M C A held in Harrisburg. Three hundred two boys attended. fifty seven from Harrisburg and others from fifty cities. Delegates toured the Capitol and museum. the group approved goals for world peace higher scholarship in public schools and stronger Christian communities. Next year the conference will meet in Hazelton during Thanksgiving weekend.
The Hershey High Senior Class hosted a farewell party for Misa Evelyn Pass who will move Tuesday to Williamsport to continue high school. The evening featured games and dancing with refreshments served. attendees included Rev. and Mia, J. R. MacDonald, Kathleen Lelever, Elsie Brehm, Grace Bitotta, Mary Heil, Charlotte Heil, Dorothy Hyland, Annabelle Shaeffer, Evelyn Pass and others.
