The new line connects Hershey with Elizabethtown and the surrounding agricultural region. Service runs hourly in both directions with cars leaving Hershey 15 minutes after each hour and from Elizabethtown 15 minutes before each hour, last car at 12:15 a.m. The route crosses private right of way, includes several stations, and links with Pennsylvania trains for coast-to-coast travel.
