The Hershey Mothers' Club urges community backing to sustain the Free Kindergarten. A Progressive 500 Card Party is planned for December 5 at 8 o'clock in the Winter Dance Hall, with 24 prizes and a 50 cent admission, tickets available from club members.
The Dauphin County Farm Bureau hosts a corn and potato exhibition on Saturday December 3 in the Hershey High School basement. Farmers from southern Dauphin County are urged to enter yellow dent white dent white capped yellow dent and utility corn along with white russet or pink skin potatoes. Judges from State College will determine prizes and a lecture on corn and potato culture will follow. Entries must be grown by the entrant.
First National presents Marshall Neilan's The River's End at Hershey Central Theatre on Saturday December 3 with a Mermaid Comedy. Tuesday December 6 features The Big Town Round-Up starring Tom Mix and Ora Carewe with a swift nerve tingling plot and thrilling escapes plus the fifth episode of Hurricane Watch.
The choir of Trinity Lutheran Church Hershey opened a series of medical services with a well attended Sunday program. W Carl Winger sang a notable solo and the choir delivered strong numbers including Luther's A Mighty Fortress in original choral style. The pastor spoke on hymnology and the Reformation significance of the hymn.
The Harrisburg Red Cross will hold its usual monthly meeting at 2 30 on Monday afternoon December 4. All members are urged to attend. Members are also requested to meet every Wednesday at 1 00 in the school building to sew refugee garments.

New rule requires proof of successful vaccination. unvaccinated pupils are excluded until vaccinated, with repeat attempts up to three times before county vaccination. A one year immunity certificate may be issued if vaccination proves unsuccessful, then re vaccination required. The state keeps a permanent health record for each child, including weight and height data to appear on monthly report cards.

The Hummelstown American Legion Post No 265 will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday evening December 4 at the Port home. A good attendance is hoped for.

Palmyra High beat Hershey High 27 to 0 on a mud soaked Palmyra field. Hershey played with a patched lineup nine players short, while Palmyra relied on gritty defense and key scores from Henderson Bordner Yeagley and Light.
The Hershey Industrial School held a Thanksgiving program with student recitations and songs led by Harold Sours and others. The Big Five defeated Monarchs and Jost 34 to 31, then beat the Juniors of Wershey 41 to 14 in a Saturday game, timed by Mr. Mann and refereed by Sam Zimmerman, with attendees including Mr. Leese and Miss Ruth C. Beam.
Woodmen of the World Camp 864 will meet in the Hershey Tun basement at 7 30 PM Thursday December 1. A Uniform Bank will be organized and officers for the ensuing term will be elected. Members are urged to attend.
Mr and Mrs Paul Heax announce the birth of a baby girl Betty Ruth on Tuesday morning November 20.
Elizabeth Light daughter of Mr and Mrs John H Light married Charles R Batdorf son of Mr and Mrs Curtis Batdorf of Fredericksburg on Thanksgiving morning in the First United Brethren Church. Rev Dr W E Daugherty officiated. Ruth Runkel was bridesmaid with Sterling Light as groomsman. The couple left for a honeymoon in Washington DC and the bride, a former Hershey employee, is praised for her soprano voice and many roles.
The Diakonia Class of Holy Trinity Lutheran Bible School hosts a homemade food sale and bazaar in Market Hall on Saturday December. Readily available will be delicious foods and a large variety of handmade items to solve Christmas gift needs.
