The Hershey Chautauqua schedule from September 4 to 10 opens ticket sales. Regular adult season tickets cost $2.00, children under twelve $1.00, and special evening tickets for employed workers $1.00. Debates on Socialism moved to evening, Welbourn lecture moved to afternoon, to boost attendance.
The United Brethren and Presbyterian churches join for a park theatre union service at 7 30 Sunday evening led by Rev George H Turner of Philadelphia. He recently worked with the Chautauqua Association of Pennsylvania and will deliver a strong sermon with music by the choral society directed by S J Feese. An offering will be taken. The union meetings aim for greater summer results than last year.
St. Mark's Reformed Church of Reading hosts a picnic with an expected crowd between one thousand and twelve hundred people. Visitors have frequented Hershey Park, which is described as a top park in the state region. Next week marks the banner week for Hershey Park this season with large picnics planned.
Bishop William M. Bell of Los Angeles California will speak at the second union church service in Hershey. The service will be held in the park theatre in August with an afternoon start to accommodate a Mt Gretna engagement. A band concert will accompany the service.
The Metropolitan cast comprising the McGill Stock Company will present two different shows next week. The productions are described as up to the Hershey standard and above the usual run of stock plays.
The Hershey Volunteer Fire Company calls a regular monthly business meeting for Tuesday evening August 6 at eight o clock. Members are urged to attend to discuss important matters and have input on upcoming decisions.
The Y W C A will present two farces on Saturday afternoon August 8. The Ghost of an Idea is a one act comedietta about boarding school life with a byline of students Dhélly Van Flutter Nan Doolittle Polly and several Hershey and Mumma girls. Cousin Frank is a distinct one act play featuring Enid Raymond Genevieve Raymond Mary Raymond Maud Thorne and Frank Harpley with Miss Elizabeth Mumma.
L. B. Dunham has severed his connections with M. S. Hershey and left for Spokane Washington Wednesday evening where he has accepted a similar position. Both Mr and Mrs Dunham have gained a host of friends since coming to Hershey and who regret to see them leave. While here he was the efficient forester.
