Hershey Store Opens Draws Big Crowds in Hershey
Last week at the Big Department Store in Hershey attracted nearly 3000 visitors, with about 1000 inside simultaneously on Saturday evening during prize drawings. Evening concerts by the Hershey Band and Friday’s Hershey Orchestra plus Y M C A glee club enhanced the openings. Floral and plant decorations created a garden atmosphere near the annex entrance. Friday afternoon at 5 30 the Board of Trustees of the Y M C A met to organize and note the new furniture in the building. A W Snavely was reelected chairman and E L Bomgardner reelected secretary. Insurance on the gymnasium furniture and apparatus was placed with S C Stecher.

Hershey Store Receives J I Case Machinery Immense Load
The Hershey Store Company received two carloads of Case T M Company machinery from Rackle Wisconsin on Tuesday and unloaded it at the J H Moyer siding at Derry Church on Wednesday. The lot includes a 21285 pound road roller a 36 H P engine a rock crusher with stone bin and a 60 H P traction engine. L W Dunkel representative of Case and two experts assisted with unloading making Hershey’s equipment among the region’s best.

Allison Garman Speaks at Myerstown Ingathering
Last Sunday marked Ingathering Day at United Brethren Church in Myerstown. Allison Garman of Hershey, a member thirty-five years ago, attended the annual gathering and gave one of the day’s addresses. He was among the four longest-connected members present.

Blooms Make Beautiful Display at Hershey Mansion Grounds
The Mansion grounds showcase peak spring blooms with three greenhouse beds featuring red tulips, hyacinths in varied shades, and a long ribbon bed of red and yellow striped hyacinths. A prominent 85 by 50 foot bed near the fountain holds red tulips with a white border, plus triangular beds of yellow centers and pink borders.

Azalea Reported Stolen From Conservatory Park
Gardener Haverstick discovered an azalea valued highly by him missing from the Park conservatory after placing several plants outside to refresh in the rain. The thief is asked to return the plant to the conservatory.
