US Bonds Week Set By Estates And M-H School
James Marvin of the U S Treasury Savings Bond Division will address supervisory employees in Hershey Community Building on Monday June 9 as Hershey Estates and Milton Hershey School launch new U S Savings Bonds campaigns. The week of June 9 is set for campaigns in both the School and Estates. The Hershey Chocolate Corporation conducted its drive the week of May 19. The payroll deduction plan for Series E Savings Bonds is emphasized to promote saving and strengthen the economy under the theme Strengthening Americas Peace Power.

Memorial Day observance set in Hershey with veteran speaker
Derry Township prepares the annual tribute to war dead with a ten o’clock Memorial Day ceremony at the Community Building Court of Honor. Lieut Col Daniel Rogers of the Pennsylvania National Guard 899th Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion will give the address presiding will be Michael T. Morris American Legion Post 386 commander. The program includes the Central Dauphin High School Band Rev William Sheldon Blair American Legion service Hershey VFW conducts the service and the firing squad from Hershey Italian Club salutes. Richard Hiler will play Taps with Rev Dr J R MacDonald delivering the benediction.
