Volunteers Sought To Help With Recreation Program

The Hershey Community Club seeks volunteers to supervise a summer recreation program for 165 boys ages eight to 15. Activities include baseball and swimming with support from the Community and Women’s Clubs, schools, and local service groups. Games start at Memorial Field at 6 30 on Mondays and Fridays.

Delegates Named for VFW Auxiliary District Meeting

Hershey VFW Auxiliary selects delegates for the upcoming district meeting in Steeton on June 10. Named are Elizabeth Mathias Rhoda Wisenhour Anna Lebo Vera Binner Ardell Wallace and Louise Reedy with alternates Anna Smith Estella Smith Clara Cavage Lucille Lengle Marie Shearer and Anna Sopko. Edna Clendening to chair the May 25 poppy sale.

College annual ready dedicates volume to Dean Fenstermacher

The Hershey Junior College publishes the second volume of Heraco. The dedication honors Dr. Varnum H. Fenstermacher described as Dean of our College for his services and efforts toward the school's advancement.

Hershey High School Set For May 24 Commencement

The Hershey High School Class of 1956 will graduate 227 seniors at 7:30 p.m. May 24 in the Community Theater. Dr. A. M Paxson will deliver the address on Once To Every Man A Nation. Three students will present a symposium on What Does Our Generation Need. Diplomas will be awarded by Clever E. Ernst, president of the Derry Township school board.

Registration For Kindergarten Tots

Derry Township schools open kindergarten registration for the 1956 57 year at the elementary school office from May 21 to 25. Hours are 9 to 11 30 a.m. and 1 to 3 30 p.m. Children must be five before February 1 1957 and bring birth and vaccination certificates. A Pre School Clinic for parents is set for May 23 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. with A to L and M to Z groups meeting accordingly.

Hershey High and Junior College to hold joint baccalaureate

A combined baccalaureate for Hershey Junior College and Hershey High School classes of 1956 is set for Sunday May 20 at 7 30 p m in the Community Theater Rev J Herbert Miller will preach with other clergy assisting The Hershey Junior College Chorus and soloist Arthur Whiteman will perform under director W Paul Campbell followed by organist W Purnell Payne The graduation schedule lists Hershey High May 24 Hershey Junior College May 28 and Milton Hershey School June 4.
