Hershey Street Car Man Remembers Trolley Days
John H. Ebersole a Hershey Estates retiree and former Hershey Transit street car operator recalls the towns trolley era. He drove lines from Hummelstown to Lebanon Hershey to Elizabethtown and patts Hill and helped during heavy snows in the mid 1920s. He joined Hershey in 1914 and retired January 1 this year after shifting to maintenance at the Hershey Community Building. Married to Lillian Roger he has two grandchildren and is an honorary Hershey Volunteer Fire Company member.

Hershey Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars hosts a March 13 luncheon at the Hotel Hershey Spanish Room honoring National Auxiliary President Mrs. Thomas Holt of Philadelphia. Mrs. Lester Smith is General Chairman with Mrs. Frank Gasper as Reservations Chairman. Harrisburg officers and two past national presidents attend. The group supports charity projects including scholarships for Korean War orphans and cerebral palsy funds.

Have Roles In Model Government Sessions
Twenty three Hershey Junior College students attended the Central Regional Convention of the Intercollegiate Conference on Government at Dickinson College on March 5. Ronald Fouche chaired the HJC delegation and the State Government Committee while guiding John Grace Jr of Lebanon Valley College for Speaker of the Model Legislature. Dennis Castelli served as Sergeant at Arms. Professor William Schmehl led the Faculty Committee screening candidates for committee chairmanships at the state convention. On March 26 HJC will host a regional caucus to organize Grace’s campaign for Speaker at the State Convention in April.
