Hershey celebrates National Girl Scout Week marking the 45th anniversary. About 437 girls in 24 troops join 487 members in 62 leaders and 38 committee women under the Hershey Girl Scout Neighborhood Association. The week, starting Sunday as Girl Scout Sunday, features daily observances and church attendance.

Optimist Club To Hold Foul Shooting Contest
The Hershey Optimist Club hosts its annual foul shooting contest for school age players. The event is set for Saturday at 1 PM in the Community Club gym. The Hershey Optimist Club announced a fifteen piece band from Central Dauphin High School will perform at the Teen Canteen this Saturday March 9. Under Prof Whit Gingrich the band will entertain with dancing and a mid intermission show from seven thirty to eleven. The event is free for all Derry Township teenagers.

Walter K. Ebersole and his wife served as houseparents at Milton Hershey School for six teen years beginning July 1 1940 at the Gro Mor farm home. They mentored more than 100 foster children while living in Hummelstown with their son Walter and daughter Jean.
