Derry Township Farm Girl Shown for National Queen of the Furrow
Cynthia Fern Zell of Hummelstown Route 1 is a Hershey High School senior and 4 H leader. She competes with Donna Landis of Millersburg Route 1 for Dauphin County’s regional Queen of the Furrow title. The winner advances to the National Plowing Contest and Conservation Exposition in August. Zell milks forty cows on a 200 acre dairy farm and serves as president of the 4 H Light Horse and Pony Club and secretary of the 4 H Dairy Club.

Bern ie Bierman to coach the Pennsylvania Big 33 squad against the All American All Stars at Hershey Stadium on August 9 in a charity game benefiting Scout councils and the National Paraplegic Foundation. Tickets are $3.30 and $2.20 with limited in-person seating. The all star team will be chosen from 47 states, led by coach Lynn Waldorf, with a contingent of 25 Pennsylvanians listed across ends tackles guards.

All-American Ball to Crown Queen at Hershey Park Event
An All-American Queen will be chosen next Thursday evening August 7 at the Starlight Ballroom Hershey Park. The ceremony preludes the August 9 scholastic football classic at Hershey Stadium featuring Pennsylvania Big 33 stars against national selections. Henry Jerome and His Orchestra provide music for the event supporting Boy Scout and Girl Scout fundraising.
