Hershey Estates President J B Sollenberger Honored
Retiring Hershey Estates President John B Sollenberger was honored by fifty six Hershey leaders from Hershey Chocolate Corporation the Hershey National Bank the Hershey Trust Company and the Milton Hershey School at Hershey Country Club last Wednesday night. Speeches were given by Arthur Whitman James E Bobb Theodore R Banks Samuel F Hinkle Dr John O Hershey and Wallace R Mayer with Reverend Paul Kehm and Reverend Harry Kehm as guest speakers. A surprise gift a tape recorder was presented to Mr Sollenberger by Mr Whitman to mark the occasion.

The 54th annual Governors Conference drew 50 of 54 governors including delegates from the Virgin Islands Guam and Samoa. Highlights included a Gettysburg visit hosted by President Eisenhower and wife a Park Club dinner a Pennsylvania Dutch Night and a formal black tie state dinner before the Independence Day events in Philadelphia with President Kennedy as speaker.

Sollenberger Retires After 47 Years Leading Hershey Estates
John B. Sollenberger ends a 47 year 4 month 6 day career as Hershey Estates president. He helped build the Hershey Sports Arena and expand sports ventures while serving as American Hockey League president and board chair. He remains a Hershey resident and plans travel with Mrs. Sollenberger in retirement.
