The Milton Hershey School Board re elected D Paul Witmer as Chairman James E Bobb as Vice Chairman A R Whiteman as Secretary Joseph S Gumpher as Treasurer and Assistant Secretary and John T Shuey as Assistant Treasurer for 1958 The board includes T R Banks James E Bobb William H Earnest J J Gallagher Joseph S Gumpher Samuel F Hinkle J B Speerer More than 1000 orphan boys are enrolled and educated at the school funded by Milton S Hershey with intake ages 4 to 14 and college aid for qualifying graduates.

Dog Obedience Classes Begin at Hershey Club
Registrations pour in at the Hershey Community Club for the seventh annual dog obedience course directed by Ralph L. Hoar. Classes run seven Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m starting January 20, with a March 10 graduation. free for members and eight dollars for non members. Clyde Lamborn and George Boyer lead the instruction.

1958 National Plowing Contest Coming Here
Hershey will host the National Plowing Contest in August as part of the 1958 Conservation Exposition. The site was chosen at a Friday Community Inn meeting with 24 attendees from agricultural groups. James E. Bobb of Hershey Estates hosted, with Leland H. Bull of Pennsylvania agriculture organizing, and Ralph E. Patterson of Penn State presiding.

At the annual meeting of the Board of Managers, officers were reelected for 1958. The Board lists T. R. Banks James Bee Samuel F. Hinkle J. B. Sollenberger and A. The Hershey Foundation, founded in 1935 by the late Milton S. Hershey, funds education in Derry Township. It fully supports Hershey Junior College with no tax payer cost. Mr. Hershey and the Foundation donated all school buildings and rental properties for the Derry Township School System.

Hershey Junior College will start mid year examinations Friday January 17 with two hour written tests for freshmen and sophomores in all subjects except English literature which lasts three hours. Registration for old and new students occurs Friday January 24.
