Heckert Named Superintendent of Hershey Golf Courses
John B. Sollenberger announces Riley E. Heckert will become superintendent of golf at Hershey Country Club Hershey Juvenile Country Club and Hotel Hershey. A Harrisburg native and longtime greenskeeper he joins from Gettysburg Country Club where he served until December. Heckert holds multiple golf association roles and begins March 1.

March Of Dimes Final Report To VFW Post
The March of Dimes Committee report was presented at Hershey Memorial Post 3502 VFW. Township residents donated $2,175.74 to the infantile paralysis drive. Officer nominations are set for March 11 and March 17. The post funded ten dollars for an ambulance and planned patient entertainment at Lebanon Veterans Hospital on March 5. The 1954 All-Sports Almanac will go to Hershey area lettermen and can be bought for fifty cents. The Blues and Red membership teams shared a dinner, with Blues receiving a free meal for the drive victory.

Ambulance Fund Campaign Under Way in Hershey
About 100 workers attended a briefing at the fire hall to launch a drive by the Hershey Ambulance Corps. Campaign chair C J Speicher and secretary-treasurer John W Steen led sessions as a campaign thermometer tracked progress toward a $9000 goal for a community ambulance. Members pay $1. over 125 volunteers enroll in a first aid course to staff and operate the ambulance housed at the fire hall under the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company.
