Eagle Scout William Ames Honored At Rotary Event
William Ames son of Mr and Mrs William E Ames of Hummelstown Route 1 received his Eagle award at a Hershey Rotary Club luncheon during National Boy Scout Week. A Hershey High School student in Troop 211, sponsored by Mt View Bible Church, he was named to represent Keystone Council at Scout Day at the Capitol in Harrisburg with Gov George Leader hosting. Senior Chosen For All Eastern Chorus
Hershey High School senior William Nixon has been selected for the All Eastern Chorus to be held in Atlantic City New Jersey March 1 to 5. Nixon a college preparatory student is the son of Mr and Mrs Henry F Nixon of 260 East Granada Avenue Hershey. He plans to enter Lebanon Valley College this fall and will be accompanied by Hershey High School chorus director Wilbert Hartman at the Ambassador Hotel.

Hershey Memorial Post VFW and Ladies Auxiliary announced the local Mothers March for Polio results. Door to door porchlight efforts raised 608.55, Blue Crutch symbols 112.90, iron lung containers 126.82, and other contributions 210, totaling 1058.27.

Ninety-Year-Old Hocker Reaches Birthday Milestone
Frank L. Hocker, a pre Revolutionary local family member, turned ninety on February 7 while in good health. His Hockersville lineage dates to the era before the Revolution and the land Elm Avenue now sits on was owned by him until 1914. He and Emma Etter had eight children, with five surviving. A birthday party was held at the Abele home on Sunday.
