Grand Prize in Hershey Home Decoration Contest
The Hershey Rotary Club announced a 250 prize fund for the Home Christmas Decoration Contest with a 50 prize grand award. Eight prizes are offered per category across four groups: Best window or doorway, Best lighting display, Most original decoration, and Most artistic. The judging area includes all of Derry Township with three judges Roy W. Deets Roy H. Dundore and Frank I. Edris.

Clever Ernst Elected To Head School Board
E. Ernst, 165 West Chocolate Avenue, was chosen president of the Derry Township Board of School Directors at the annual reorganizing meeting. He has completed one six-year term and was reelected last November. He also runs the Hershey Filling Station. E. Carl Foreman was named vice president, with Marlin E. Balsbaugh as secretary and William H. Black as treasurer continuing in office. Paul O. Curry, sworn in to his full six-year term, had served earlier to fill a late member’s unexpired term. Other board members include E. Morse Heisey and Ezra E. Grubb. A dinner for directors and guests followed at the school cafeteria.

Retired employees from Hershey Chocolate Corporation Hershey Estates and Milton Hershey School attended Christmas dinners Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the Community Building Dining Room. About 275 guests enjoyed turkey, carols and music from a Hershey High School string ensemble.
