Centerpiece in Hershey shows a wall pattern on the Hershey Chocolate Corporation office with about 2300 lamps and 23000 watts of brightness. The display includes 500 green bulbs 520 red 300 yellow 275 blue 275 orange 400 white and six 150 watt flood lights lighting big candle shapes.
Nearly six hundred guests including retirees and spouses attended two Hershey Company holiday dinners in the Community Dining Room. William S. Seltzer and Paul J. Ferry led the evenings with remarks as the Milton Hershey School Glee Club performed. The program featured caroling, music, and a roast turkey menu with festive treats and poinsettia gifts.
Christmas turkeys will be distributed December 23 to Hershey Chocolate Corporation Hershey Estates and Milton Hershey School employees for family Christmas dinners. Boxes and dressed fresh frozen birds will be handed out. greeting cards have been mailed bearing signatures of company and school leaders.
The Derry Township Welfare Board and Tri County United Fund report a 1957 unified drive raising 52140.79 for charitable health and recreational work. Industrial plan yielded 48975 plus 3165.79 from door to door canvassing, with an additional 11366.40 from in plant contributors. Lebanon County residents could designate the Lebanon County Community Chest.
Derry Township Board of Supervisors established a southbound only lane on Linden Road between Chocolate Avenue and Areba Avenue. Signs were erected and motorists urged to use the three block section safely and properly.
