Dr. W. P. Campbell Accepts PSU Music Education Post
Dr. W. P. Campbell, supervisor of music in Derry Township Schools since 1947, will become associate professor of music education at Pennsylvania State University. His resignation was accepted with regret by the Derry Township Board of School Directors at their Monday meeting. He directed Hershey High School Orchestra and Senior Chorus and numerous other vocal and instrumental groups.

Dutch Days program highlights crown and dairy show
Highlights include the crown ing of the Pennsylvania Lotwearick Apple Butter Queen and judging of the Dairy Cattle Show. An old fashioned Dutch auction opens Friday, with a Dutch dialect service and square dancing in the park. Ezra Taft Benson appears Saturday, plus a statewide chicken barbecue and Poultry Queen selection. Concerts by the Pottstown Band and Johnny Schmoker Band complement Sunday activities.

The August 26 event at seven p.m. in Hershey Community Theatre invites all church and Bible School members to attend. Jack Boyer leads hymn singing. Campbellstown Evangelical United Brethren Choir provides music. Dr. Lindquist chairs National Missions board and serves as a Princeton Seminary trustee among other roles. The Hershey Junior College begins the 1956 57 year two weeks from today on September 6 with ninety freshmen ten advanced freshmen and fifty four sophomores enrolled. First events include a freshman convocation at nine a.m. in the Little Theatre and a 2 10 p m convocation for returning students. A three p m reception honors new entrants. Registration for all students is scheduled for Friday September 7 starting with sophomores at 8 30 a.m. Faculty student conferences are arranged for orientation across the first two days.

Soaring Sunflower Grows Tall at Spangler Home
A 12 foot sunflower at Mr and Mrs Lester L Spangler 145 West Caracas Avenue required a stepladder lift from Mr Spangler. The heavy bloom needed a face lifting and the stem was lashed with wooden splints to stay upright attracting much local comment.
