Sixty Hershey area volunteers lead the 1954 Cancer Crusade as part of the Dauphin County American Cancer Society drive. The goal is 30 000 with 60 percent to local division work 25 percent to national research and 15 percent for national education and services. Esther Long a Hershey High Senior earned a 600 scholarship to Catawba College Salisbury NC for teaching potential and leadership in school bands and clubs.

Hershey announces public displays of its new community ambulance funded by ambulance corps contributions. Shows scheduled for Saturday and Sunday April 24 25 and May 1 2 at the fire hall to coordinate with finishing the First Aid Training Program. The Steering Committee aims to provide dry runs for volunteers before fulltime 24 7 operation begins.
