Food bank networks see no Y2K donation spike
Oregon and Ohio food banks report steady giving as Y2K fears fade. In Portland and Eugene officials note people may hoard supplies for winter storms while Columbus can take days to decide on food storage. Comal County’s SOS Food Bank reports rising demand with no end in sight, serving 300 plus families daily. Volunteers and a formal verification system ensure aid goes to those in need, with one monthly limit per family.
