Nixon aide firms gain eligibility for disadvantaged bids

The SBA noted no contracts were yet awarded to B&C and cited an informal inquiry about a Ft. Lewis job that was rejected. Brown, a top black White House official in Nixon’s first term, left the White House in February. The SBA described the program as an arbitrary effort to help disadvantaged minorities enter the mainstream.

Irene Schlise, 52, of the town of Merton Wis was found stabbed to death in her home late Friday night.
