Fine Buildings Extensive Plans of Nation
Washington Sept Supervising Architect Taylor of the Treasury Department has drawn for the Lewis and Clark Exposition a group of government buildings famed for their design. The main center building, 240 by 300 feet, will feature a 130 foot arch roof and a large skylight. Two 260 foot towers, decorative arches, and Ionic colonnades will frame the complex with Alaska and fisheries pavilions as end wings. A sunken garden and a 12 foot deep pool will sit before the main hall. Construction is slated to begin once plans are complete and contracts awarded by November 1 if weather permits.
