Death of George Toomey in White Township described
George Toomey a farmer from Field Township died suddenly in this city while loading coal into a wagon near the Greenlee coal sheds at the depot on Saturday afternoon about four oclock. An inquest found death by apoplexy. He left a widow and two children, and the funeral was held at Mile Moose church with burial in Mone cemetery.

In Putnam a local harnessmaker William J Parks 57 committed death by own action. He locked his shop door hung himself with a rope, the rope cut by Dr Connor. A coroner and five jurors ruled death by hanging. Parks born May 2 1886 Fulton County married to Hunice Barnes leaves five children. Funeral conducted at ME church Putnam with burial in Putnam cemetery.

School Notes Highlight School Life and Activities
Balleweg is a pianist this year. The old office is a new reception room for young ladies with a table mirror and brushes. Boys have similar facilities. John C Mountjoy, former teacher, visited Thursday. now an agent for The American Bird and Study Chart. Both floors now have fountains. Domestic science lesson led to a baked sweet potato repast. The Athletic association donated two tennis nets. Mr Steele's boys enjoy their new football. Many students attended the orange fair. Report cards will be issued Thursday. Teachers attended Sparland meeting. Miss Young, Miss Bickerman, Miss Rhodes, and Mr. Steele on program. Miss Young and Miss Gilpin spent Saturday at the boat. Cooking lessons continue for teachers and pupils. Lab time with aprons on for baking. Miss Young blistered thumb and Miss Bickerman burned tongue. During Miss Hunter’s absence Eisie Carpenter taught second coin. Tarent handmade boxes added to blackboard directions. John Dalrymple returned to fifth grade. Fourth grade made six sided button baskets from cardboard. Miss Ila Morgan and Sadie Hupp visited Miss Young’s room Friday.
