At about 9 PM Tuesday last week William Stout Sr. was thrown from his horse when it stumbled. The horse fell on his leg, breaking a bone near the hip joint. George Snell found him and helped summon Dr. Reader. The leg was set and bandaged, and Stout received care at Snell's home and then returned home.
Diphtheria scare eases by Dr Reader's care. Edward Snell buys Whitman land and plans tiles. Residents plan winter quarters and social events. King debt and lawsuits noted.
