Ivy Trail highway plan unites nine counties in Illinois Valley

Delegates from nine counties formed the Illinois Valley Way to build an improved Chicago Starved Rock Peoria route. Officers include Knotts of Marseilles as president and Woodruff of Joliet as treasurer. The Ivy Trail was christened and active work is hoped to start by spring with governors and highway commissioners urging county cooperation. Delegates from Henry County towns were present.

Prohibition Meeting Speaker Leads Enrollments in Chicago

Mrs. Florence Sloan Hyde of Chicago spoke at the Presbyterian church on Sunday at 2 30 PM urging pledges for voters not to back candidates or parties opposed to national prohibition. She announced 9 000 000 voters pledged and described enrollment efforts statewide with pledge and membership cards circulated for signing.

W C T U Elects New President and Plans Prohibition Day

The W C T U met Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Harrison Gregory as attendees. Mrs. S May Stickel resigned as county president and Mrs. J A Williams presided. Mrs. 8 L Clift was elected president. December 2 will be observed as a day of prayer for national prohibition with a meeting at the Presbyterian church in the afternoon.
