A New River Freight Line Forms for Silica Sand
A new corporation named Commonwealth Silica Co of Chicago has bought the Buffalo Rock near Ottawa containing 200 million tons of silica sandstone. It plans to ship about 1000 tons daily to St Louis by water with 36 barges and two power barges, offering reduced freight rates and faster service. The firm seeks dock improvements and offers to form a committee with the Business Men's association to advance riverfront dockage.

Obituary notes Hezekiah Root Trim born 1829 in Wendell Mass. sailed as a youth, settled as a farmer in Saratoga township Marshall County and later moved to Henry. He married Thirza Hovenden, then Mary E Smith. Survived by five children and many grandchildren. Funeral held at Henry, interment York Neb. Rev R W Martin resigns pastorsip at Henry. Methodist Shake-Down draws merry crowd at church social
Friday evening a large audience gathered at the M. E. church for a social titled Shake down. Eva Harrison and Rosa Reinbeck played a vigorous piano duet to open the program.
